
Jack’s birth is based on a survey (with 50 people) about what generates an emotional relationship between an object - or in this case furniture - and a user. Based on the investigations conclusion we designed an inviting rocking chair with a second small embedded seat shell. On first sight only the hole in this shell gives you the idea of removability. Trough the hole you see a section of a picture, directly printed on the textile cover of the main shell. Although the illustration is not entirely visible on first sight, the hole in the small seating surface indicates it’s secret. If you want to explore the image you need to remove the hard plastic surface and you will find a small surreal world, the heart of Jack.
