The title “on the other side of the looking glass” by Lewis Carroll inspired this project. Parallel worlds - present in a lot of movies and books, but as well in our everyday life.
But how to reach another world if you are trapped in your own body and in your own mind? We decided that we have to change the perception of the human being in order to make this possible. Catch the rabbit is a walkable installation. A room with straw on the floor and four observation cams on different levels on the wall. The visitor gets LCD-Glasses and headphones. With the demand to “catch the rabbit” he enters the room. The computer sends by hazard the view of one of the cameras on the glasses as well as the sound from another on the headphones. The visitor watches himself from outside acting in the room. He is subject and object at the same time. If he’ll find the rabbit or not depends on the visitors ability to let himself fall down the rabbits hole...
